The default configuration items that we should be setting when deploying new Cisco UCS C Series Chassis or verifying when doing a client discovery.
Here is the list we came up with based on previous DCW and clients.
UCS C Chassis Task List:
• CIMC
o Patch to latest CIMC using HUU (upgrade all)
o Set Fan Policy based on deployment
o Power Policy: Restore Last State
o Set hostname to FQDN
o Set admin and create alternate credentials
o Disable IPV6 if not needed
o Disable Cisco Intersight if not needed
o Set IP, DNS, NTP, SNMP, Time zone, and SMTP
o Configure Syslog if used by client
o Apply certificates if needed
• ESXi
o Patch to latest version compatible with UC apps
o Set hostname to FQDN
o Set root password and create alternate credentials
o Disable IPV6 if not needed
o Set IP, DNS, NTP, and SNMP
o Configure Port Groups, Virtual Switches, and assign Physical NICs
- Management Network – Recommend redundant connections (LOM) if PCI riser cards are present.
- VM Network – Recommend redundant connections on PCI riser cards with route based on IP hash if using port channel
o Set VM autostart
